Shopify User Roles
Shopify user roles operate across organization and store levels. Default roles are established by Shopify, while The MAiZE maintains custom roles tailored to your specific operational needs.
Shopify Standardized Organizational Roles
Default roles defined by Shopify for an organization. These roles can not be edited or removed.
Organization administrator
- Full Control & Access of all stores
- Can add users to store
- Can NOT access banking
App Developer
- View, create, edit, and delete apps
- View, create, copy, and delete development stores
Shopify Standardized Store Roles
Default roles defined by Shopify for a store. These roles can not be edited or removed. Store Owner and Store User Administrator roles have the authority to add new users to your store and assign them any of the standardized roles available in The MAiZE organization.

MAiZE Standardized Store Roles
Users can be assigned multiple Roles
There is one capability that remains restricted to organizational control: the ability to create custom roles. Custom role creation requires Organization-level permissions to ensure role structure. If you need a role that doesn't exist in our current standardized set, please reach out to request its creation and/or addition to a current role.
*All standardized store roles grant access to POS. POS roles are assigned and managed at the store level. When a user is assigned a MAiZE standardized role, they are granted the default POS set by the store.
