Dolly's "Don't Misses"

30-Year Employee Tribute Sign - Did you know Dollywood pays tribute to employees who've worked 30+ years with special themed signage around the park? For example, keep an eye out for the “Jack's Wire Service” sign recognizing the dedication of a maintenance worker named Jack Anthony who started in 1982 and whose wife is named Barb (as alluded to on the sign by "Barb wire.")

25-pound Apple Pie - What do you get when you combine 35 apples, heaps of sugar and flour, and a touch of old-fashioned baking magic? The gigantic 25-pound Apple Pie at the Spotlight Bakery, of course. With slices weighing 3 pounds each, be sure to stop in and see it firsthand!

Aunt Granny's - Named by USA Today as one of the top 10 best theme park restaurants in the country, this all-you-care-to-eat-buffet is one of Dolly's foodie favorites and earned its name from the nickname Dolly's nieces & nephews affectionately gave her. A great option for lunch or dinner, this is where you'll find some Smoky Mountain classic comfort food.

Funnel Cakes - Although the cinnamon bread is their top selling sweets item, Dolly’s personal favorite is the funnel cakes. They have lots of different toppings you can choose from, but Dolly’s favorite is plain.

Cinnamon Bread – Speaking of the cinnamon bread, make a stop at the Old Grist Mill where approximately 350 loaves of bread are sold an hour, and 210,000 loaves every year. This is one of the most iconic treats at Dollywood, so make sure you get a loaf to share and maybe even one to take home!

The Wings of America Bird Show - The Wings of America show features free flying birds of prey, with an amazing educational experience that was kicked off by none other than Dolly and Bob Hope in 1991. Cared for daily, the bald eagles residing within Eagle Mountain Sanctuary are all permanently disabled and would not be able to survive in the wild. Don’t miss one of the park’s most popular shows, featuring the largest collection of non-releasable Bald Eagles in the United States.

3D Drone & Firework Show - Did you know Dollywood flies 500 drones each night, along with 3 specialized drones and 10 spare drones to make sure back-ups are standing by and ready to go? The show started in 2021 and has taken off to become a don’t-miss grand finale for the day. For the best view of the 9:40 pm show, which includes a few fireworks as well, make your way to Wildwood Grove.

Coasters - If you’re a coaster fan, Dollywood won’t disappoint. Be sure to check out Blazing Fury, the oldest roller coaster built more than 40 years ago; then contrast that with Big Bear Mountain, the park’s newest and longest coaster that opened in 2023 - reaching speeds up to 48 miles per hour and climbing elevations up to 66 feet. In total there are 10 coasters in the park, with Lightning Rod being the fastest, reaching up to 73 mph.

Christmas for Decorating – Dollywood knows how to celebrate Christmas, featuring more than six million lights, decorated trees, and holiday-themed shows during the XX week Christmas season. Amazingly, a team of approximately XX is able to turn the park into a winter wonderland in just two weeks!

Dollywood Employees – Dollywood is the largest employer in Pigeon Forge, with a team of more than 4000. Add some detail here.

Dolly’s Meatloaf, Cornbread & Granny Ogle’s - Granny Ogle’s Ham & Beans restaurant in Craftsman's Valley is a fan favorite and named after Judy Ogle, Dolly's closest friend of 60+ years. If you stop in, you may want to try the meatloaf…it’s a Parton family favorite! And definitely don’t skip the cornbread in a cast iron skillet that is served with every entree.

Landscaping – Known for its unique and beautiful setting near the Great Smoky Mountains, Dollywood’s landscaping team is comprised of XX employees. One of its newest and most beautiful areas is Wildwood Grove, with 400 trees and 2,300 shrubs.

Best Day Ever Photo Frame –  Ready to snap a few selfies? The #1 photo opp in the spring season for the “I Will Always Love You” festival, is the Love Sign near the entrance. With plenty more photo opps along the way, be sure to also make a stop at the life-size “Best Day Ever” picture frame near the exit.

Robert F. Thomas Chapel – No visit to Dollywood is complete without a stop at this beautiful replica of Dolly’s church when she was growing up. With church services still held every Sunday, the chapel is named for the minister and doctor who served Sevier County for more than 50 years.

How May I Help Information Chart – A great example of how to best communicate important information to their guests, be sure to seek out the “How May I Help” sign near XX.

Voted #1 Customer Service - Receiving the honor of the #1 in customer service, guests love the atmosphere at Dollywood and the special little details in everything they do. Our friends at Dollywood truly know how to put the frosting on the cake through their team of more than 4000 employees.

Red’s Diner - Located in Jukebox Junction, Red's Drive-In is a retro diner named after Red's Café, the restaurant where 6-year-old Dolly Parton ate her first hamburger!

Dollywood Express Train - All aboard! Be sure to take a ride on the Dollywood Express Train and keep an eye out for a few recognizable characters along the way, including Cinderella and Klondike Katie. The oldest attraction in the park, powered by an authentic 110-ton coal-fired steam engine, both of the train engines were used in World War II.

Dolly’s Mountain Home – Wondering why there is a home in the middle of the park? Though Dolly’s primary residence is now in Brentwood, TN, she grew up the fourth of 12 children in a small cabin in Locust Ridge, TN. With no electricity or running water, Dolly says they used to catch fireflies in mason jars and keep them in their rooms for light. Despite not having much, as they were growing up, none of them ever thought of themselves as poor, with Dolly saying they were rich in things that money couldn’t buy, like love, kindness and understanding. You’ll get a true sense of Dolly’s early years when you visit the park’s replica of her Tennessee Mountain Home, built by her brother Bobby.

Celebrity Sightings?  Dollywood, which welcomed more than 3 million visitors last year, has become a bucket list destination for many around the world, including some familiar faces. Celebrity sightings at Dollywood are not an everyday thing, but they do happen and often go unrecognized. From Keith Urban and Nicole Kidman to Carrie Underwood and Jimmy Fallon, a variety of celebrities have made their way to Dollywood over the years. One of the earliest was Bob Hope, who appeared with Dolly at the grand opening of the Eagle Mountain Sanctuary in 1991.

There’s always a story - When visiting the Fire Chaser Express ride, take note of the firefighter statue and real fire hoses paying tribute to local heroes. What started as a new ride in 2014, became something more. “We don’t just build rides here. We like to tell a story, so we’re telling that story but we’re also providing some recognition and some inspiration for the folks that put their lives on the line every day,” said Dollywood officials. Signatures, gathered from more than 1,300 firefighters throughout Tennessee, serve as decor on the fire hoses and are one small example of how their story is being told.
